Addressing skills gaps with businesses

We are engaging with businesses and representative bodies to ensure employers’ needs shape training provision locally in five key sectors.

We launched our Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), a business-led and data-driven blueprint for better matching training provision to the needs of local employers, following extensive consultation.

This research identified five priority sectors:Cover of Mind the Skills Gap our employer-led local skills improvement plan
• Construction.
• Digital and Creative.
• Health and Social Care.
• Manufacturing.
• Transport/Logistics.

Calling on our network of businesses, local authority employment services and job centres, our employment programmes and recruitment fairs can connect you with enthusiastic future staff members.

Businesses have already helped us get over 16,000 local residents back to work, or into work for the first time. Find out about our programmes.
