Website launched to help careers leaders inspire young people
We are delighted to announce the launch of the Local London Careers Hub East website.
The new site will support careers leaders to inspire young people to consider a wider range of career opportunities.
With a wealth of events, training, resources and tools to help careers leaders, enterprise advisers, employers, as well as parents and carers, Local London Careers Hub East website will ensure that young people across our boroughs get the best careers education, guidance and opportunities possible.
The pool of resources will support professionals working in careers-focussed roles to continue their development, and will help schools, colleges and specialist education providers in the Careers Hub to meet and exceed Government benchmarks.
The Local London Careers Hub East website will also catalyse even better engagement with businesses and professionals wanting to join hundreds of others motivating young people to think broadly about career options.

There is already a significant number of events and resources to help everybody interested in giving young people in our East and South East London boroughs the best careers information possible. We will work with our partners to continue building the information to make sure that our kids are getting the best start in their professional life.”
Support for careers teams in schools and colleges
The Hub has already engaged 180 schools and colleges who are committed to achieving their Gatsby Benchmarks and enhancing their careers education programmes.
Careers teams will find useful advice on the Local London Careers Hub East website, including:
- CPD, support and advice for careers leaders.
- Information on upcoming events and activities.
- Insights and service information from sector experts and education partners.
We welcome all institutions in our boroughs – Barking and Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest to sign up to the Local London Careers Hub in order that they can access the fantastic opportunities/events and online resources to support them in the enhancement of their Careers Programmes.
Support for businesses wanting to excite the next generation about career options
Companies or individuals wanting to support young people to understand the world of work and its opportunities will find helpful information on the hub website, around:
- Volunteering on a long-term basis as an Enterprise Adviser: supporting a school or college’s careers education programme and introducing your networks and contacts to create inspiring events and activities.
- Volunteering through ‘Give an Hour’ and supporting one-off careers events in schools.
- Becoming a cornerstone employer and joining more than 300 businesses UK wide who want to help improve the lives of young people.
The Local London Careers Hub East website is funded through the Greater London Authority (GLA), Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
