The actions below describe the specific work we will do between 2019 and 2021 to achieve our 5 ambitions.

We’ve organised our actions around 4 themes:

People

1: Delivery plan for the Skills strategy

Action: Delivery plan for the Skills strategy – aligned to the GLA skill strategy and underpinned through programmes, realising funding streams and reflected in Local Industrial Strategy for London
Outcome: Skills attainment levels improved

2: Business task force

Action: Create a sub-regional business growth plan to reflect infrastructure, skills and workspace needs as part of a successful sustainable business base
Outcome: A sustainable and mixed business sector

3: Local London Communities Action Plan

Action: The collective response to shared issues around gangs, countylines, community cohesion including partnership work with other public bodies
Outcome: Safe and cohesive communities

4: Third sector review and coordination

Action: A data platform of the third sector and review of all spending in order to define the future engagement, and create a sustainable third sector
Outcome: Resources and powers devolved

5: Support a Local London Crowdfunding platform

Action: Align to borough-level platforms and build a matchfunding CSR policy across the sub-region

Place

1: Collaborate on the Local Industrial Strategy for London

Action: Create a sub-regional business growth plan to reflect infrastructure, skills and workspace needs as part of a successful sustainable business base
Outcomes: Resources and powers devolved; Inward investment grows

2: Create a Local London infrastructure plan

Action: Coordinate across the different governance structures to ensure we have an overarching set of priorities that has an accompanying lobby plan
Outcomes: Hard and soft infrastructure invested in

3: Bid and access funds

Action: We need investment into our digital infrastructure to make ourselves London leaders
Outcome: Resources and powers devolved

4: Build a compelling vision for inward investment

Action: Working with the boroughs to engage international, national and regional investors
Outcome: Inward investment grows

5: Innovate and incubate our future offer

Action: Build on the SMART city projects across the region and grow ideas to scale
Outcomes: Hard and soft infrastructure invested in

Policy and planning

1: Establish a Local London Commission to look at future population and space

Action: Work with partners, boroughs and residents to develop our understanding of changes taking place across the sub-region
Outcome: Resources and powers devolved

2: Build and share best practice across Local London to improve efficiency and enhance learning

Action: Work towards Local London annual awards as part of an annual Local London conference
Outcome: Efficient and effective service

3: Development programme

Action: Work with local authorities to create a development programme for borough officers that supports mentoring, training and secondments
Outcome: Efficient and effective service

4: Create a common data profile for Local London

Action: This should underpin our economic vision and be central to future bidding and public affairs
Outcome: Inward investment grows

Delivery

1: Programmes management for current programmes

Action: We will establish a formal reporting and governance approach for all programmes
Outcome: Efficient and effective service

2: Identify future programme needs across all key priority areas

Action: As part of other work being developed we will identify programmes that need developing and implementing
Outcome: Resources and powers devolved

3: Create a performance dashboard for Local London

Action: There will be a top-level outcome dashboard underpinned by specific programme targets
Outcome: Efficient and effective service

4: Develop an income strategy for Local London to be cost-neutral in 3 years

Action: Look at the Local London offer to current and potential partners
Outcome: Efficient and effective service

5: Identify ideas and services that can be tested in a collaborative environment

Action: This may lead to shared services or shared approaches
Outcome: Efficient and effective service
