Get involved in improving careers education
Could you help inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work?
We are looking for employers and people working in a range of sectors to become volunteers and support careers leaders to enhance their careers education programme.
We will match you to a school or college, and provide you with training and networking opportunities to enable you to undertake your role and share best practice.
What does an Enterprise Adviser do?
Enterprise Advisers can offer a variety of activities to students, for example:
- Giving presentations to students about career experiences, and opportunities.
- Creating interactive workshops that motivate young people.
- Sharing experiences of the workplace, and much more.
What are the benefits of volunteering as an Enterprise Advisers?
- You will directly influence careers programme to prepare young people with the skills and knowledge for your future workforce.
- Sharing your experiences allows students to meet role models and broaden aspirations around future pathways, jobs and opportunities.
- Get resources and support from our team to bring your careers inspiring ideas to life.
- Join a network of like-minded, enthusiastic volunteers from different sectors and build external and internal relationships.

Other ways to get involved
- Volunteer through ‘Give an Hour’ and support one-off careers events in schools. You will be notified of the events and can choose if you wish to get involved.
- Join more than 300 businesses UK wide who want to help improve the lives of young people by becoming a cornerstone employer.
- Provide quality Work Experience placements for students aged 16+ who are at risk of leaving their place of education without a future career goal through the Education Development Trust’s ‘Get Ahead Work Experience Programme‘, backed by Government and the Mayor of London.
