No longer taking new referrals, the Local London Work and Health Programme continues to provide support to people who are far away from the job market, to help them find and stay in work.
The Local London Work and Health Programme has helped thousands of local people get into work.
Delivered by Maximus UK on behalf of Local London across our boroughs, this is our longest-running employment programme.

Who is it for?
Our Work and Health Programme provides up to 21 months of support for people who are unemployed and have long-term health conditions and/or disabilities to gain and retain employment.
Nationally, 80% of people on the Work and Health Programme have disabilities, but that figure is 84% in Local London.
How we’ve helped
Over 21,000 people in our nine boroughs have moved into work, training or closer to the job market through our programme.
A significant proportion of participants would be unlikely to find work without the support of the programme, so it can be totally life-changing for participants.

What we are doing
We are working closely with Maximus to ensure that more people receive the support they need to move into employment.
In addition to driving improved performance, we are strengthening connections between Maximus and local authority job brokerages, services, and Jobcentre Plus.
This includes holding job fairs where local residents on our programmes and other job seekers can meet employers with live jobs and advance their job searches.
